ENVI Mahidol Showcases Future Food Innovations at Mahidol Agriculture Fair 2026

On 14 January 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Preeyaporn Koedrith presented “Prototype Innovations in Healthy and Low-Carbon Food and Beverages” at the Mahidol Agriculture Fair 2026 held at Mahidol University, Salaya.

The showcased innovations were developed under the concepts of Future Food and the BCG Model, emphasizing the upcycling of agricultural by-products and community-based raw materials to create sustainable value-added products. Highlighted items included skincare products derived from pomelo peels and plant-based healthy foods made from pomelo albedo, free from animal ingredients, monosodium glutamate, and preservatives.

The Faculty also presented 12 eco-friendly healthy food menus, along with the handbook “Future Food: Healthy and Sustainable Cuisine,” which compiles local knowledge and wisdom from the Ko Lat I-Tan community, promoting responsible consumption for health and environmental sustainability.

The Mahidol Agriculture Fair 2026 was jointly organized by Mahidol University and Kasetsart University under the theme “Grow Together, Transform Together,” and was officially opened by Professor Dr. Piyamitr Sritara, President of Mahidol University, and Dr. Damrong Siriphram, President of Kasetsart University. The fair was held from 14–18 January 2026.


ENVI Mahidol Discusses Academic Collaboration with Tsinghua SIGS to Develop Dual Degree Programs

On 8 January 2026, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, led by Dr. Praewa Wongburi, Assistant Dean for Policy, Planning, and International Relations, together with Assistant Professor Dr. Piangjai Peerakiatkhajohn, Assistant Dean for Administration, and Associate Professor Dr. Sukanya Sereenonchai, held discussions with representatives from Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS), China.

The meeting aimed to establish a foundation for future academic and research collaboration. Mahidol University presented its key strengths, including the Carbon Neutrality Campus (CNC) project, Policy Lab initiatives, international partnerships, and comprehensive academic programs from undergraduate to doctoral levels.

Tsinghua SIGS introduced its interdisciplinary “6+1” academic structure, covering materials science, artificial intelligence, marine engineering, and environmental and ecological studies, with over 70% of instruction conducted in English.

Key discussion points focused on creating tangible educational opportunities, such as dual degree programs, scholarships including Chinese Government Scholarships and SIGS Excellent Scholarships, teaching assistant positions, and internship opportunities with leading technology companies in Shenzhen.


ENVI Mahidol Participates in the Opening Ceremony of Mahidol Hackathon 2026 Open Day

On 7 January 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Noppol Arunrat, Associate Dean for Research and Academic Services, represented the Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies in attending the official opening ceremony of Mahidol Hackathon 2026 Open Day at the Spectrum Screening Room, 5th Floor, Athitayathorn Building, Mahidol University International College, Salaya Campus.

The event was co-organized by the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, and Mahidol University International College, aiming to promote learning in innovation, technology, and interdisciplinary integration for sustainable development. Activities included program briefings, ice-breaking sessions, and hackathon workshops that encouraged participants to exchange creative ideas and develop teamwork skills to address environmental challenges through innovation.
